Digital printing takes a digital image and transfers it to paper, creating a smooth image with no impressions or raised text. No special plate is needed (unlike letterpress or foil) so this our more affordable option for printing.

Pictured: Greige Ink

Letterpress is a printing technique in which a raised metal plate of your design is inked and pressed into paper. Each sheet is fed individually through an antique printing press. The pressure leaves a deep impression into our soft cotton and handmade paper stocks.

An opaque metallic foil is sandwiched between paper and a copper plate with your raised invitation design. Each sheet is fed individually through a pressurized printing press, leaving the same, deep impression as letterpress, but with a high shine.

A COMPARISON OF

How many invitation suites should I order?

We recommend ordering one per household (not one per guest!), plus 10-15 extra in case of wrong addresses, last minute guests, and keepsakes.

Do you offer payment plans?

We do! We kindly ask that a 50% retainer be provided before securing our services, and that the remainder is paid before pieces are sent to print. Send us an email for more information and to set up your plan.

Can I customize the wording?

You can customize 100% of the wording as long as it will reasonably fit on the page!

Can I choose an ink/foil color that is not listed?

Yes! We would be happy to order a custom color for you for a fee.

Can I choose an envelope/paper color that is not listed?

If you have your heart set on an envelope or paper color that is not shown, we would be happy to find a match for you. We have many other options that are available at no extra charge.

We also have a beautiful handmade paper that will fit into our standard envelopes, if you would like to have a mix of handmade paper and the colors of our standard envelopes (those that are available with our 110#/220# paper range). Email us for this option, and we would be happy to get you quote!

Why are some of your handmade papers only available in certain print finishes?

To give you a wide range of options for your handmade papers, we did not narrow it down to just one type. We have tested these papers under various print finishes and have selected the combinations that are of the best quality. Handmade papers are also in highly variable stock, for reasons which are out of our control. We kindly ask for you to place your order as soon as possible (even if your wording isn't ready!) if you are considering handmade paper. If you have any questions about any of the papers or printing, please don't hesitate to email us.

Can I use two different types of handmade papers? (For example: Arpa and Idyll)

Because these papers are handmade, each maker has their own different set of sizes, which are not consistent between handmade paper types. Therefore, we ask that you select one type of handmade paper for consistency. You can, however, email us if you would like to use handmade paper for just your invitation card and the rest in 110# cotton, for example. Send us an email!

Do you ship internationally?

Currently, our checkout does not accommodate international shipping and we are working towards this for the future. However, we ship internationally with DHL if you send us an email. Rates are determined at the time of shipping, and must be paid before items can leave our studio. Customs and import duties are levied by the receiving country and are therefore the buyer's responsibility.

How long does printing take?

After your final proof has been approved, it takes an average of 6-8 weeks for production of your suite and any assembly add-ons.

QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED

What is the stuff + seal service?

Stuff + seal service is complementary with our calligraphy addressing, printed digital addressing, and wax seal assembly. We'll stuff your envelopes with your suite and then seal them for you!

If we are sealing your envelopes, we will ask if you would like to have us pre-stamp your response envelopes, if you would like for us to either issue you an invoice for response postage, or if you would like to mail yours to us.

What can I change during revisions?

Your purchase includes one complimentary round of minor revisions - you can make changes to the text and color, but not the calligraphy or artwork. Minor layout changes can also be made, as long as the integrity of the design is preserved.

Will my suites arrive assembled?

If you ordered the calligraphy addressing or print addressing add-ons, you may opt to have us stuff + seal your envelopes.

If you ordered the wax seal add-on with the wax seal on the outside of your envelopes, your suites will arrive assembled.

Otherwise, our suites ship flat and will require stuffing into their envelopes. If you are not ordering envelope calligraphy or printed addressing through us, this makes it easier for you to address your envelopes.

Do you sell printable files?

At this time, we do not sell our designs as printable files.

How much postage should I order?

We can't guarantee the amount of postage that will be required for your suite, since it depends on weight, size, and thickness. We suggest taking an assembled suite in its envelope to your local USPS or your country's postal carrier to determine how much postage will need to be affixed to each envelope.

If we are sealing your envelopes, we will ask if you would like to have us pre-stamp your response envelopes, and if you would like for us to either issue you an invoice for response postage, or if you would like to mail yours to us.

Can I add any customizations to the suites?

Absolutely! Customizations start at $75 depending on the level of customization you would like.

Can I mix and match pieces between suites?

Yes! You can mix and match pieces between suites at no extra charge (for example: invitation card from Siena suite, plus invitation envelope from Vienne suite). Send us an email and we would be happy to set up an invoice for you with the pieces you would like.

Can I see my invitation before I purchase it?

We don't provide proofs before you purchase your suite. After your suite has been purchased and your information has been submitted, we will send you a digital proof of your suite with all text and calligraphy within 5 business days. You will have the opportunity to make any minor changes to the text (in case of a typo, etc.), and then we will provide you with your final digital proof. Nothing will be printed until we have your final go-ahead!

We encourage you to review our policies page here before placing your order.

If you have any questions, please email nicolette@lazywoodlane.com
